Dr. Michael A. Youssef and his book, An Unholy Alliance
Every believer in Jesus must take this threat seriously and bend the knee in prayer, interceding for their souls.

Night after night, news headlines report the rise of Islamization in the West as radical Islamists take places of leadership in the United States, Europe, and Australia. And the West—under the direction of a woke agenda—has welcomed the invasion with open arms.

Dr. Michael A. Youssef has written his new bookto pull back the curtain on the deceptive practices at work in our nation and the dangerous coalition that has formed between radical Progressives and Islamists. This book is a must-read if you want to understand the ideologies plotting behind the scenes to destroy our Judeo-Christian heritage—and what you can do about it.

Q: Why should Christians be concerned about the unholy alliance between radical Progressives and radical Islamists in our culture?

A: We never seem to learn from history. When people ask me, “What does the rise of Islamization in England, France, the United States, Australia, and elsewhere mean?” I tell them it means history is repeating itself. When Islam rose in the 600s, it invaded Christian lands. Egypt, North Africa, Syria, Lebanon—all these lands were Christian lands for six hundred years. And when Islam swept in, the people of these nations were given no choice but to convert or pay a fine. Those who couldn’t pay converted. A similar scenario played out in the 1400s. Islam came all the way to Vienna with the same message. And now this is the third time in history with Islamists asserting, “This is our final stage of conquering Europe and bringing it under the rule of Islam.” Now, we don’t fear. We trust in the God of power and might. We know that our home is in heaven. But we must also be responsible citizens. We must sound the alarm over the dangers of Islam and boldly, lovingly call Muslims to come to Christ. Instead of cowering in fear, we must proclaim, “Jesus loves you. Repent and turn to Him!” We should be encouraged because thousands upon thousands of Muslims, some who were militant, are coming to Christ. That’s the power of our message: Christ can conquer the hardest of hearts.

Q: What current events indicate that the threat of this unholy alliance is now advancing rather than retreating?

A: If you listen carefully to what the Islamist leaders say, their purposes are not hard to discern. They plan to infiltrate our Western culture by subtly assuming positions of power and authority. There are mayors and councilmembers in the West, members of Parliament in England and Australia and also in Congress in the United States, who are, slowly but surely, working to choke Western civilization out in order to usher in the caliphate, Islamization, and Sharia law. Every believer in Jesus must take this threat seriously and bend the knee in prayer, interceding for their souls—that God would bring these lost people to Himself and that their plot to destroy Western culture, with all the liberty we enjoy to preach the Gospel, would be foiled.

Q: Why are so many Christian leaders afraid to speak out about the threat of radical Islam?

A: The modus operandi of radical Islam is fear. Once it instills fear—of terrorism, of accusations of bigotry, of physical harm and even death, which Islamists are doing all over the streets of Europe and even in some parts of the United States—once they instill fear, especially among law enforcement, they have won. But we do not have a spirit of fear. As believers in the Lord Jesus Christ, we have the spirit of courage and self-control. Therefore, we need to stay attuned to the Holy Spirit. We need to boldly rise up, unashamed of the Gospel, to tell our enemies that peace is found in Christ alone. And you never know, maybe another Saul of Tarsus becomes Paul, or persecutors of Christians become passionate missionaries for Christ. This is already happening in parts of the Middle East, and it can happen in the West, too, if God’s people get serious and start praying and working.

Q: What can we do to defend our civilization and our faith?

A: I outline a clear action agenda in my book An Unholy Alliance—I certainly don’t want anyone to walk away from this situation hopeless. Our God is sovereign, and He will never forsake His people. But He has given us work to do, and He always empowers us for His call. In fact, that’s the first tip I have for you as you seek to stand firm for Christ in this age of deception and chaos: Base your confidence on God, not yourself. Don’t worry about what anyone thinks about you. Don’t worry about your reputation. Don’t worry about anyone calling you names or leveling false accusations against you. Forget about self-confidence—just practice your “God-confidence.” Embrace your weaknesses and remember that God’s power is “made perfect in weakness” (2 Corinthians 12:9). He is the one who equips you for the spiritual battle and enables you to “demolish arguments and every pretension that sets itself up against the knowledge of God” (2 Corinthians 10:5).
