Man in prison
God is still saving and restoring men and women from spiritual death to eternal life in Christ.
Behind concrete walls and locked steel doors, those who thought life was over for them are now discovering new life in Christ through Leading The Way.

With nearly 2 million people incarcerated in the United States, our prison system is a vast and often forgotten mission field—but here souls have hit rock bottom and are eager to hear a word of hope. Praise God, He “is close to the brokenhearted and saves those who are crushed in spirit” (Psalm 34:18). He is at work in these dark places to draw lost souls to Himself through Leading The Way as we passionately proclaim the Truth of Christ through every available form of media.

HERE ARE JUST A FEW EXAMPLES OF YOUR IMPACT:

By the time Laura was twelve, drugs, fear, and heartbreak had invaded her life already. Growing up in hard circumstances, her decisions ultimately landed her in jail. One day, broken and desperate, she reached for a radio. And then she heard a Middle Eastern man she didn’t know, speaking words she could cling to. But life pressed on with prison, dialysis, and relapse. Finally, Laura cried out to God, “Why me?” And the Lord led her back to the radio in search of the familiar voice of Dr. Michael A. Youssef.

“When I got out of prison I couldn’t remember your name. I listened to different programs waiting to hear you,” she writes. “Well, I found you once again. I realized God needed me to sit down and listen. I understand your teachings clearly now. Thank you for helping bring me back to Christ.”

In Kentucky, Robert’s life had reached rock bottom. Though educated and from a good family, years of addiction and incarceration had left him broken and hopeless. “For the first time, I was thinking about ending it all,” he writes. Then, he found a Bible, and soon after, the Leading The Way app on a shared jail tablet.

Through Dr. Youssef’s teaching, Robert began to see Scripture with new eyes. “I now wake up grateful each day,” he shares. “I’m letting God remove the lies and fill me with Truth and the love of Jesus.” He now gathers with other inmates to watch Leading The Way together—men once bound by addiction now sitting side by side, hungry for God’s Word.

For MaKayla, it was Dr. Youssef’s teachings that empowered her to be a stronger mother amid crippling mental health challenges. “While in jail, all I had were Dr. Youssef’s sermons. His words helped me trust that God had a plan for my child and me,” she says. “Now I think more about how I can be a blessing to others. I thank God every day for the chance to be a healthier mother.”

For Javier, Dr. Youssef’s teachings are what empowered him to start living for Christ after his release from jail. “I am grateful God changed my heart. I never had a heart of service before, but now I want to live for Christ’s Kingdom,” he reflects. “Pray that my brothers in Christ, who listened to Leading The Way with me in jail, continue to spread the Gospel there.”

Whether in county jails or federal prisons, across the United States, God is still saving and restoring men and women from spiritual death to eternal life in Christ—for no one is beyond the reach of His redeeming power and grace.
