NEW FROM DR. MICHAEL YOUSSEF

In Psalm 110, we see Jesus' power is a priestly power. Verse 4 says, "The Lord has sworn and will not change his mind: 'You are a priest forever, in the order of Melchizedek.'" Even the high priest in the Old Testament could not just go into the Holy of Holies whenever he felt like it—that innermost room of the tabernacle where God appeared as a cloud over the ark of the covenant and the mercy seat (see Leviticus 16:2). The high priest could only enter the Holy of Holies once a year. But now, our High Priest, King Jesus, can forgive our sins the moment we repent. And Jesus is not just any high priest; He is the High Priest forever.

He is in control of the things that are out of your control.

In Psalm 110 we see Christ's judicial power prophesied. People may mock Jesus now, but they don't realize that the Savior, who is now welcoming, inviting, longing for people to come to Him, will one day sit on the throne as judge. The day of salvation will be gone forever. The Bible says that Jesus Christ will judge every single person on the face of the earth that has ever lived. If you reject the invitation of the King, you are going to have to face Him as your judge.

He is reigning over your affairs and your difficulties; He knows exactly what you are going through, and He loves you and is using every circumstance for the good of His children. He is in control of the things that are out of your control. He is in control of the things that baffle you. He is reigning and ruling supreme.

Prayer: Father, thank You for the priestly, judicial power of our Lord Jesus Christ. Thank You for ruling supreme over everything. I take comfort and joy in Your love. I pray in the name of Jesus. Amen.

"The Lord will extend your mighty scepter from Zion, saying, 'Rule in the midst of your enemies!'" (Psalm 110:2).
