Sometimes we feel our flaws are insurmountable, so we do our best to hide them and forget them. But God wants us to bring our flaws to Him—to recognize them and let His grace redeem them for His glory, just as He did for so many people throughout the Scriptures.

• Struggled with a quick temper, self-doubt, and a speech impediment (see Exodus 4:10, 13).

The Lord worked through Moses to lead His people out of slavery and demonstrate His wonders to the surrounding nations.

"I am making a covenant with you. Before all your people I will do wonders never before done in any nation in all the world." – Exodus 34:10

• Described as weak-eyed, living in the shadow of her beautiful sister (see Genesis 29:17).

God brought the Messiah from the line of Leah, not Rachel.

"She conceived again, and when she gave birth to a son she said, 'This time I will praise the Lord.' So she named him Judah." – Genesis 29:35

• Lived as a prostitute in Jericho (see Joshua 2:1).

God extended His amazing grace to Rahab, making her an ancestor of Jesus the Messiah.

"Salmon the father of Boaz, whose mother was Rahab, Boaz the father of Obed, whose mother was Ruth, Obed the father of Jesse, and Jesse the father of King David." – Matthew 1:5-6

• Was a murderer and an adulterer (see 2 Samuel 11:3-4).

God promises David that his throne will last eternally—a promise fulfilled in Jesus Christ.

• Was living a life of sin with a man not her husband (see John 4:17-18).

After encountering Christ, she became an evangelist for the Gospel.

"Many of the Samaritans from that town believed in him because of the woman's testimony, 'He told me everything I ever did.'" – John 4:39

• Fell asleep while praying on the night of Christ's betrayal (see Matthew 26:45).

God worked through the disciples to establish His global church through the spread of the Gospel. 

"And surely I am with you always, to the very end of the age." – Matthew 28:2

What insufficiencies in your life do you struggle to believe God can overcome? Take a minute and write them down.

Lift these up to God in prayer, remembering:

• He is your all-sufficiency (2 Corinthians 12:9)
• He hears your heartfelt cries (Psalm 56:8)
• He promises to transform you from one point of glory to the next (2 Corinthians 3:18)
• He will restore the years the locusts have eaten (Joel 2:25)

Lord, thank You that Your grace is sufficient for me.
