In October 1740, George Whitefield thundered the Gospel to thousands gathered in Boston, igniting a Great Awakening that transformed an entire continent. Fifty years later, at the dawn of the new republic, George Washington stressed that America’s flourishing depended on Biblical principles—and the new capital, Washington, D.C., would soon embody that vision at the nation’s heart.

From Boston’s beginnings as a “city upon a hill” to D.C.’s beginnings as the heart of a nation rooted in freedom, these cities hold deep spiritual significance—and today, both face urgent spiritual challenges. In the coming weeks, Dr. Michael A. Youssef will return to these historic cities for Leading The Way‘s first AWAKE America Rallies, with one purpose: to see God revive His Church and awaken our nation.

AWAKE BOSTON: REVIVAL IN A SPIRITUALLY DRY REGION

Beneath our nation’s strength lies a spiritual crisis only God can fix. Political solutions cannot heal it. Only the Gospel of Jesus Christ can bring deep spiritual change to our nation.
