The moment we receive Christ into our hearts, acknowledging our need for Him and believing that God raised Him from the dead, we are freed from the bondage of sin and death. We are new creations made to glorify God. We are also still sinners battling the world, our flesh, and the devil to bring every aspect of our lives under the lordship of Christ—yet, though the battle rages, our victory is sure. So let us take heart in the fray and find hope to endure, for our Captain is with us always.
Take time to reflect on God’s work in your life.
Take time to reflect on God’s work in your life and praise Him for His mercy and promise to bring His work in you to completion (see Philippians 1:6):
What is an area of your life in which God has granted you victory?
What area of your life do you need to surrender to God?
Prayer: Lord, thank You for bringing me victory over sin and growing my faith in You as I strive to surrender all areas of my life to Your will by Your Spirit. May I see that Your ways are perfect and that You are my glory, the one who lifts my head high (Psalm 3:3). I pray in the name of Jesus. Amen.
