A hand reaches for the sky
If you have committed your life to Jesus Christ, you must continue to walk by faith day in and day out.

QUESTION:

"What does it look like to store up treasure in heaven?"

If you have committed your life to Jesus Christ, you must continue to walk by faith day in and day out.

ANSWER:

Many people try not to think about their own mortality. Without an assurance of what follows death, they can be prone to anxiety and despair. However, the opposite should be true for those of us who know we are saved by the blood of Jesus. We are encouraged to dwell on our mortality and rejoice. Why? Because we are assured of eternal life with our loving Father. And this sure hope—this marvelous Truth—will spur us on to live both joyfully and productively for the Kingdom of God.

If you have committed your life to Jesus Christ, you must continue to walk by faith day in and day out. This means that even on days you are weary of fighting the good fight or standing your spiritual ground, you mustn’t give up because your heavenly home is within sight. Simply put, to store up treasure in heaven today is to be a faithful steward of the Gospel of Jesus Christ.

Jesus came down to earth in humility and grace to die in our place and freely give us the gift of salvation. What are we to do with this undeserved gift of forgiveness? We obey His call to preach the Gospel to all who will hear. Investing in eternity means we invest in the eternity of others—introducing as many souls to Christ as we can before we cross the finish line.
