From the Shadow of Islam to the Light of Christ

Across the Middle East, men and women are questioning the beliefs they have held all their lives—and searching for Truth. In places where following Jesus can come at tremendous personal cost, God is using Gospel broadcasts, Biblical teaching, and faithful discipleship to reach seekers with the hope found in Christ alone.

Karim’s* story is one powerful example.

Raised in a devout Muslim family, Karim faithfully practiced every Islamic ritual. Nevertheless, he was left with unanswered questions and a growing sense that something was missing in his life.

“I had the nagging feeling that the rituals weren’t getting me anywhere,” Karim shared. “I began searching everywhere with the hope of finding answers to my questions.”

That search led him to our KINGDOM SAT TV channel, broadcasting solid Biblical teaching 24/7 into the Middle East. As he listened, his curiosity grew. This Jesus—His life, miracles, teachings, and sacrifice—was wholly different from the Jesus of the Quran. And when he heard a clear presentation of the Gospel for the first time, Karim finally understood God’s love for him.

Despite the weight of his Islamic heritage and the persecution he would face, Karim surrendered his life to Jesus. “As soon as I declared His sovereignty over my life, I began experiencing peace and joy that I had never felt before in my life.”

Today, Karim continues to grow in his faith through discipleship resources provided by our on-the-ground Field Team.

After watching a debate between Muslim leaders and Christian pastors, Mohammad was left puzzled about his beliefs. Though he had yet to hear the Gospel, he was so shaken that he dropped out of college, where he was studying Islamic law.

One question pervaded his mind: “What if Christianity is the Truth?” Unable to obtain a Bible, he began listening to Scripture online. “Every word spoke to my soul,” Mohammad said. “I became convinced that this is the way of life I want to live and practice.” Wanting to know other believers, Mohammad reached out to our Field Team, who immediately began discipling him to build a solid foundation in the essential Truths of Scripture.

Today, Mohammad has firm faith in Jesus and even a bold prayer for the future—that one day he would become a pastor, passionately proclaiming the Truth of Christ to others.

Stories like Karim’s and Mohammad’s remind us why this work matters. God is opening hearts in places where the Gospel can be difficult—and even dangerous—to embrace. Through THE KINGDOM SAT and our Field Teams, seekers are hearing the Truth of God’s Word, and new believers are receiving the Biblical discipleship they need to stand firm and grow in Christ.
